Well Amanda & Kesha completed the Moonwalk in under three hours! Get in ladies, and get in to everyone else who participated (Sandra & Cheryl of course) to raise money for 'Uniting Against Breast Cancer'. Thanks to everyone who supported the Charity Auction & Quiz, and everyone else that sponsored the Amanda & Kesha. Do you want to know what we all raised? Of course you do. From the initial meagre target of £250, which was constantly being upped
by yours truly, we ended up raising.... wait for it.... Three thousand, two hundred and eighty pounds!!!! Plus a few more quid to come from the Cropredy bar takings! Bloody tremendous!!! You were all very generous indeed, infact, give yourselves a pat on the back! Done? Ok, good. Amanda was a little sore in the lower back area (same as I was after the 10 mile jaunt to Cropredy and back on Tuesday evening!), and today, her bottom is painful. Painful it may be, but it looks an absolute peach, I couldn't tell by looking at it! I tried to tell by touching it, I couldn't feel any pain there either! She managed to leave the Angel Juicer's life force at the hotel room. The lead was left hanging from a plug socket, pining to power the tricurating stainless steel gears. Hopefully someone will unplug it and take care of it, maybe providing it with a restful retirement boiling kettles. A replacement was swiftly found (from the back of my desktop computer) and the Angel's life force was restored.
The sale of organic fruit and veg went well. We fell about £50 short of covering our costs, but it was the first time, so I was more than happy. Just meeting a mix of lovely characters from the street was a joy in itself. I really enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy it enough though to spend £50 quid meeting people every weekend though.... Saying that I used to do it every weekend in my twenties!
Fingers crossed with the word spreading, and a bit of support from local friends it may just work.
Additions to what we had this week, include rhubarb, peaches, bananas and cabbage! Lovely!
Hi
ReplyDeleteAmanda was amazing at the Moonwalk, prancing round like a gazelle!! Don't know where she gets the energy from!
It was a fabulous weekend having the "Dow Girls" back together again to support a fantastic cause - the achy legs and lack of sleep were definitely worth it!!
Angel is an amazing piece of kit and had pride of place on the table next to the crappy TV (the TV in mine and Cheryl's room didn't even work!!).
Hopefully see you in a couple of weeks when you back on the Rock.
