Busy, busy, busy my friends.
Amanda has decided that after over 6 months of full on Gerson Therapy is enough is enough. She has eased the regime down to include a few fresh organic juices each day, as and when she wants them. This plus an organic, vegan diet, with no processed white sugar, salt or flour. This may sound like a bind to the majority of you, but to us it's wonderful..... Freeeeeeedom (said in a loud Scottish accent like Mel Gibson when he portrayed William Wallace in Braveheart, what a brilliant film!)
She has chosen to carry on taking
Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Niacin, Co-enzyme Q10 & Fos a dophilus (not a friendly dinosaur, a supplement containing 6 pro-biotic bacteria).
Since we last spoke I spent another six days on the Isle of Man, which on this occassion was very difficult, due to leaving Amanda behind. Six days felt like a month. I spent each and everyday out and about from 7am walking the rivers, and the coastline, capturing scenic fishing images, and also catching a nice salmon! I fished the beaches in 50mph winds catching lovely little schoolie bass too ..... Refreshing! Big Sam & I fished through darkness. The first two hours we were sandblasted, the final hour we were battered by horizontal rain..... Horrible conditions, but better than sitting in the house watching TV!
Whilst I was being battered by horizontal rain Amanda got busy tidying, decluttering and 'getting rid of'. Why you ask? Well that's a good question.
It's adventure time,, that's why!!! Amanda has felt in limbo for the past few months, trapped, and has been feeling rather down, some days simply depressed. She was also fed up of the house we rent, so moving was the first step.
Two very good friends of ours who live in Cardiff are heading to New Zealand on the 27th November for four weeks, Carl is taking part in The Kepler Challenge. A run/trek for 38 miles over NZ's high, rugged terrain, which must be completed within 24 hours.... Nice! Good luck buddy.
I had an idea.... and that doesn't happen very often.... so I thought I'd put it out there! I asked Carl & Kate-Anne if they would mind us house sitting for them. They said yes, under the caveat that we take a few business calls and post a few items for them, not much of a caveat eh? Brilliant! I put this to Amanda. She thought it was a great idea. This idea then snowballed...... We gave notice on 29 Queens Road. Our plan is now to head to Cardiff on the 26th November, then back to the Isle of Man on 24th December for a couple of weeks..... Then..... Dah dah daaahhhhhh! The Far East for a few months. What? Where? The Far East you say? Do you mean over Norfolk way? Nope! We are going to travel through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Amanda wants to study Thai Massage. In Thailand she can attend a college everyday to get her qualifications. Where as if she studied here, she would have to go once a week for 12 months..... and it would be cold for a few of those months! Ha ha!
The logistics of the move were proving tricky. What do we do with all our 'stuff'? We all seem to end up with soooooo much stuff.... It's crazy. We accumulate trash and belongings that are hard to move around. They tie us down..... Like all my lovely fishing gear! Ha ha! I mentioned to my Mum & Dad what we were considering doing. They kindly offered us garage space and house space to store our furniture and boxes..... but hiring a van, then taking it to the IOM, then back again was going to cost a small fortune. A storage facility.... that was going to cost around £400 for 4 months..... Let's ask friends if they need, or indeed if they can store any furniture, white goods or boxes for a few months. BINGO!!! Everyone has been absolutley brilliant. Stu & Holly have just moved house, and have very little furniture, so they are taking a double bed and mattress, dining table, sofa and arm chair, rugs.... whatever they want really! So that's worked out perfectly. Steve & Kesh are housing another double bed in their new spareroom, and possibly the fridge freezer too. Wadey is popping the washing machine in his garage with a couple of boxes, then Steve & Nicki Sneath, Jane Bourne, Dave Alvarez and many others have offered us attic space! You are all stars! Thank you all so much.
Another friend is lending us a van to shift everything.
Thanks to Susie who owns the salon that Amanda works at. She has been so understanding over the recent months. It's very much appreciated x
As part of the 'get rid of' I have just listed about 35 books on Amazon.... One has sold already! Awesome! And Amanda has bagged up loads of clothes for various charities, and bagged lots of other stuff for recycling..... then alot of mine has just been binned whilst I was on the Isle of Man I reckon.... I'm sure of it!
"Whatever happened to that jumper that I hadn't worn for 5 years, that I was thinking about wearing today I wonder....."
On Tuesday night there was a TV show on Channel 4. It was called the Food Hospital. The show's main aim was to show if people are willing to change their diets they can reduce the effects of illnesses or indeed reverse them. Food allows the body to heal itself. Give your body the right tools and it will utilise them. Give it the wrong tools and it has to try to rid itself of them, which can be hard work on the liver and kidneys, and in turn every other organ of the body!
There were twins, one who had suffered breast cancer in her mid twenties. They told the doctors they'd pretty much gone vegan and dairy free. The doc's suggested that there was no clinical proof that avoiding dairy can help beat cancer, and that diet can't cure cancer. No it can't cure cancer, but diet can massively improve your immune system, which is what keeps most cancers at bay. Therefore indireclty it can 'cure' cancer, through prevention. I was a bit disappointed by the cancer coverage. It literally skimmed the surface.... In fact it skimmed the surface of the surface. Ah well. At least they are aiming to demonstrate the importance of a healthy balanced diet. Eat well.
Speak soon x
